Sử dụng động cơ 2,9 lít và công suất tăng thêm từ 10 đến 20 mã lực, điểm khác biệt của bộ đôi xe hơi thể thao Boxster và Cayman so với mẫu cũ là thiết kế mũi và sau xe.

Boxster 2009 trang bị động cơ 6 xi-lanh công suất tối đa 255 mã lực của hãng xe danh tiếng nước Đức - Porsche. Boxster 2009 tiêu hao trung bình 9,1 lít/100 km. Tăng tốc lên 100 km/h trong vòng 5,6 giây từ vị trí xuất phát. Tốc độ tối đa 265 km/h.

Động cơ đặt giữa cùng hộp số PDK thể hiện sức mạnh của Boxster 2009.

Phía trước chiếc Boxster 2009 thiết kế họng gió lớn hơn hẳn so với mẫu xe cũ. Đèn hậu phía sau theo cụm với các bóng LED.

Bên cạnh đèn sương mù, Cayman 2009 có thêm đèn LED định vị. Đèn pha bi-xenon tích hợp chức năng quét góc tự động cảm ứng. Cho phép người lái quan sát được tốt hơn khi chuyển hướng.

Thiết kế phía sau của Cayman 2009 "mượt" hơn khi hệ thống đèn hậu, nắp ca-pô và ống xả được sắp đặt khá gọn và bắt mắt.

Bộ đôi Boxster-Cayman 2009 trang bị vành đúc hợp kim 17 inch. Nếu muốn, khách hàng có thể mua thêm thiết bị tùy chọn TPC - hệ thống quản lý áp suất cho lốp. Nhờ TPC, tài xế có thể đọc các thông số ngay trên bảng đồng hồ để nắm tình trạng lốp trước khi lăn bánh.

Cayman 2009 tại Việt Nam có giá tiêu chuẩn 148.400 USD. Theo đại diện Công ty TNHH xe hơi Thể thao Uy tín, đơn vị này kỳ vọng sẽ bán được trên 10 xe của cả hai mẫu Boxster và Cayman 2009 trong năm nay.
